June 8 Attended sale at Wistanstow

June 11 Wool sold at /11 84..9..0 Sold wheat at 6/- per B

June 21 Kept the Queens Jubilee, bonfires on hills, 18 men &.. here at supper

June 23 Paid half years rent reduced to 215.5..0

June 25 Began hay harvest. Finished July 11th

July 30 Began grain harvest. Finished August 23rd

Aug 26 At Mr Myddletons sale at Beckjay

Sep 19 Went to Dumfries to look out for some scotch seed wheat, also to Edinburgh & then to Glasgow. Stayed at his Lordships Larder Hotel

Sep 23 From Glasgow to Penrith (at the Eden Valley Show) bought wheat near Appleby (Kirkley)

Sep 24 Came home. Had a good outing

Oct 20 At sale at Little Brampton

Oct 26 Attended sale at Brunslow

Nov 19 Maggie went to Mr Nocks of Brockton House in Shifnall, as governess

Nov 24 In Birmingham at Mr Wilcox’s & Snapes

Nov 29 At Llanymynech (late Aunt Savage business). Saw Tom at Welshpool, in Oswestry at night at sister in laws

Dec 24 At Chamber of Agriculture meeting in Shrewsbury
